Field Quick Reference
Operators · keep in the field kit

① Before you fly

  • Confirm site authorization / licence on file
  • Battery charged, props & gimbal checked
  • Dry, low wind, even light (avoid harsh noon/low sun)
  • Note growth stage & weather for the log

② Capture settings (Matrice 4T)

  • Camera nadir (−90°), straight down
  • Altitude 25–40 m · target ≤1.5 cm/px
  • Overlap 80% front / 70% side
  • RAW/JPEG originals + thermal; steady, sharp

③ Start the uploader

  • RC Plus: run the Termux + rclone uploader
  • Laptop: argus ingest --source <album> --field F1 --watch
  • Use a scoped Spaces key - never the master key
  • Leave it running the whole flight

④ After the flight

  • Confirm media finished uploading
  • Log the flight in Drones & Edge (alt / battery / area)
  • Watch the bell - cannabis & low-confidence go to Review
  • Verify each flagged item (Approve / Reject)

⚑ Alert cheat-sheet

  • Cannabis confirmed / new → verify on map + review
  • Review backlog → assign reviewers
  • Device offline / hot / disk full → check the Jetson
  • Backup failed → tell admin now

✔ Golden rules

  • Cannabis = candidate for human review, not proof
  • No master keys on field devices
  • No flight without site authorization
  • Positions are GPS-level unless RTK is used

⚙ Quick fixes

  • Map blank → Mapbox token / flight had no GPS
  • Device offline → restart the heartbeat agent
  • Locked out → wait ~5 min, then correct passphrase
  • Alerts silent → external channels need setup (admin)
